Not at all. Pints is a pub guidebook for your phone — a live tap list of what's on at every UK pub right now, a loyalty card that works across the lot of them, and a monthly crate that posts six cracking cans through your letterbox. We don't deliver pints. We get you to the pub.
"Is it free? What's the catch with The Round and The Crate?"
The Pint tier's free, forever — no card, no trial timer. The Round is £4.99/month for double-stamp Tuesdays, brewery cards and tap-takeover early access. The Crate is £24/month including UK postage for six 440ml cans from six different breweries. Both pause or cancel from the app in two taps.
"How do you know what's actually pouring tonight?"
The landlord tells us. Every pub on Pints has a Cellar Console — the landlord or cellarman drags new kegs in, kicks empties out, sets prices. The Hare on Bethnal Green updates theirs in eight seconds. Pubs without console access get crowd-sourced from logged-in punters; we cross-check three sightings before publishing.
"Does my regular get behind the bar for free?"
Pints is free for independent pubs and breweries, always. No revenue share, no listing fee, no premium-placement gaming. We charge punters (£4.99 for The Round, £24 for The Crate) and brewery partners pay a flat sponsorship for featured roundels. Your pub gets the cellar console, the loyalty stamp, and footfall data at zero cost.
"What about a quiet country pub with one cask and no Wi-Fi?"
Still works. The landlord updates from their phone over 4G. Or they text a number and we transcribe. Or a single punter snaps the chalkboard, we OCR it, and update the tap list in 30 seconds. We've onboarded pubs from the Isle of Skye to Cornish fishing villages. If it's got a beer engine, it's got a slot.
"Will my data get sold to the big lager companies?"
No. We're independent — backed by Cellar Ventures and our 94K members. We don't share individual data with any brand, brewer or chain. The breweries we work with see aggregate (e.g. "12% more pours at Bethnal Green pubs this month") never individual records. Read the small print — it's two pages, in English, no dark patterns.
